NaNiDam is a centre for LIFE. It is an experience centre amidst the nature - An experience in nature to awaken the sensations in us, bring out the creativity and revoke what the modern way of life has snatched from our lives. Information centres, reading spots, sky viewing points, a place in nature just for a lie with chirping sounds of the birds and enjoy the nature's enigma. An absolute no for modernisation....A truly natural experience with the mother earth, the blue star studded sky, drizzling water and ponds filled with Lillie's and lotuses. Walking amongst the tropical delights of nature....Is what we have been dreaming about. A true LIFE centre filled with experiences of our mother nature. Nanidam provides an amalgamation of experiences ranging from heritage, nature, adventure, culture, and religion.
A centre that can educate us and our kids. On the life in nature, playing in sand, mud, pebbles, water, awakening one's sensations. Swinging on trees, snoozing on a Hammock, Reading a book in the nature, sipping an organic coffee or a tea in the nature's kitchen will add to the aroma of the experience. A place to park, play, plant and play with pottery is all a part of the experience and education.
Nava is a nature's pit stop. This has world class refreshing facilities with changing rooms. For those tired visitors to freshen up, change to their walking or cycling gears and get on with the nature.
A centre for arts, crafts, painting, pottery, planting and more. This we hope will bring alive the sensations within us. There is a potter's wheel on which kids can show their pottery skills. Kids can play with the Mother Nature's ingredients soil, sand, manure and plant their own plant to take home. For those who would like an experience of the past – stay put on the stone grain grinder.
Local organic produce can be picked up from our shop. Seasonal produce from vegetables to fruits from local farming community will be based on the values of free trade. Our own "Kushi farms" spread over 50 acres is an organic Agri-horticultural unit produces organic vegetables, tamarind, Mangoes, Jamoon and rose apples. There is a flower corner for your loved ones. The shop also has a small collection of souvenirs and basic necessities.
There will be a Farmers market, once a month. This will give a flavour of the local produce fresh from the farm.
Will be the podium for our weekly farmers market (Santhe). Local organic produce from the Nandi valley including floricultural, horticultural and agricultural products will be sold. This will also be the venue for local artisans to exhibit their art. Loco-regional cultural activities will also take place.
Those who would like a night stay in the nature can use space for tents, campfire and even use our nature's kitchen to cook amidst nature. There are 2 tent spaces amidst the nature. There is provision for self catered cottages for 2 – 4 families with children. Hmm…if you fancy a lie in the hay filled ground, Nanidam will be the place. Sleeping Hammocks will help you sleep in mid air – an experience for those who dare the winter chill @ Nandi hills.
A place for all to meditate and pray.
NaNiDam will help the local population with awareness programmes, educational activities and Yoga sessions. Cancer awareness and health surveillance camps have been organised in association with CANFRI and Sai Krishna Trust.
A place to pray, meditate and speak to self. This will cater to the spiritual souls within us.
There are dedicated sites for campfires. Winters are cold and warmth of the fire evokes your sensations.
Tropical forestry, Horticulture, Organics, Tea gardens and Amla.
We are very passionate about tropical forestry, farming & horticulture.
Our passion for this has resulted in exotic tropical flowering trees like Acacia, Caesalpiniaceae, Cassia, Erythrina and Lagerstroemia. Some of other trees include Seetha ashok, Silver oak, She-oak (Sarvae) etc.
Crop is dominated by Banginapalli. Mangoes first created by Zamindars of Panyam but introduced by Nawabs of Banaganapalli. Fruits are obliquely oval in shape, with yellow flesh and a thin, smooth yellow skin. The flesh is of a firm, meaty texture and is sweet and lacks fibre. In addition are native wild species. Tropical fruits we have include Guava, Sapota, star fruits, seetapala, Jack fruit, Devanahalli Chakkota etc.
Organic collection includes Curry, Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Neem, lime grass, ginger, garlic, basil, mint, coriander, chillies n' more. Green to black Tulsi and Aloe vera dot our gardens. Many more medicinal herbs will fill your senses.
To cater to our organic restaurant "Mango n' Olive", we grow our green tea ingredients. Organic mango leaves, Olive leaves, ginger, mint, lime, neem, amla, basil and Tulsi. The green olive leaves come from various species of olive plants that include Barnea, Arbequina, Cortina, Kornoieiki, Picholine & Picual.
We have pride in having large, well grown, mature, wild and old amla trees. It is known for its edible fruit used raw, cooked or as pickle. It has extensive medicinal properties.
Tucked amidst the Mango grove is our organic restaurant Maavu. There is a kitchen garden, spice garden, kitchen, juice centre and an outdoor dining area. The cafeteria is "Mango n' Olive". Our juice centre is "Amruth" – serves green juices, fresh fruit juices, fruits and nuts. The restaurant, cafeteria, kitchen, dining area and the juice centre are amalgamated with the Mother Nature. Serving the locally grown and seasonal produces – Organic is our theme. Our spice and fruit garden has Lime, lemons, citrus fruits, betel leaves, peppers, cardamom, spice leaves etc. In addition the greens grown include spinach. Variety of seasonal vegetables is grown that include Carrots, radish, beet roots, chillies, aubergines and tomatoes. Fruits grown include Mangoes (seasonal), tender coconuts, limes, lemons and citrus fruits.
There are facilities for open air cooking in our nature's kitchen. This facility is for our self catered cottage users and also small groups on picnics.
Rose garden, Hibiscus garden, Jasmine (Mysuru mallige, Kaadu mallige), Marigold and many more flowering plants, shrubs and creepers fill your senses. We have stunning aquatic plants including lotus and water lily.
This will give a peep into the history of village life. Communal grinding stones, grain grinders, water tanks and collection of stones are a learning experience.
Nandi hills range gives birth to Arkavathi, Chitravathi, Papagni, Uttara pinakini (Pennar), Dakshina pinakini (Ponnaiyar) and Palar. Rapid urbanisation has had an adverse impact with need for conservation. Water conservation and rainwater harvesting has been done at NaNiDam. A number of check bunds have been constructed in addition to 5 artificial ponds. They are named as Pala, Penna, Upi, Dapi and Arka.
A Rejuvenation centre with Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy & complementary medicine. A tennis court, splash pond and therapies area are planned. For the citizens of tomorrow, Children's play area with slides, swings; sand pits etc are in place. There is facility for outdoor Badminton.
Weekly yoga sessions are being organised with surya- namaskars. From basics of Yoga, art of breathing, concentrating, relaxing are taught. Yogathons are planned for all. Adults, women and children of all ages can participate.
The highest point on the land is our outdoor auditorium, platform for open air venue for weddings, cultural events and our own activities. Eg: Yoga sessions, Cultural activities, village art, gatherings, weddings etc.
Is adjoining the forest and is a place for hydrotherapy and play after a sweat soaked walk. Kids can play in this water body safely.
A small conference centre to cater to 20 people is present for educational and conferencing activities.
NaNiDam is an excellent nature's venue for small scale events, parties, yogathans, art and craft exhibitions, walks School trips, excursions, small scale weddings, functions, corporate meetings, team building activities, music concerts and spiritual gatherings. Individual excursions / day outings / school trips can be curated based on the needs and requirements.
